Keeping things fun and loose, we generate a series of sketches to explore various concepts. We accompany these sketches with an assortment of architectural images and ultimately decide upon the final scheme or parti. At this point, we pull these ideas into the computer generating the first round of floor plans and building elevations.  A customized 3D-Model is also built through the process. This invaluable communication device provides both you and the entire team with an accurate visual representation of the design.

The Design Phase...

It all begins with our unique Client Questionnaire. This allows us to gather information about your lifestyle and personality, helping to define the building style and program. During this stage we also gather any architectural cut-sheets or photographs you may have collected. From entire structures to the most intimate details, every image benefits the process. A critical final piece of information is the site survey. This electronic representation of the site depicts the property lines, contours and all of the natural features of the property.

Process

At Klein Architecture we tailor our working process to your specific needs.  Some clients enjoy close involvement with their projects while others prefer to remain more hands-off.  During our 20 years of experience in forging client relationships, we understand that no two projects are alike.  Here is a general outline describing our design process…

At this stage, we partner with you to evaluate the bids provided by the contractor and ensure we progress a design which meets your budgetary requirements.  During the construction period, we guide the contractor and subs and provide additional details to keep the process smoothly running. We also review the work to ensure that the project meets our quality standards so that you are delivered the home we had envisioned.

Bidding, Construction Administration and Project Completion...

This is the phase where we introduce additional team members. These generally include the structural engineer, landscape architect, interior designer, contractor and any additional consultants the project requires. With their input, we develop the structural plans/details, landscape and interior drawings. We then consolidate this into a comprehensive set of documents from which contractors can accurately bid and build from.
